THE SUSSEX YEOMANRY
Calling Fellow Yeoman
Welcome
The Sussex Yeomanry is dedicated to preserving the proud heritage of the Yeomanry and its fellow comrades. Founded in 1794 in response to the threat of a French invasion during the Napoleonic Wars, it was reformed during the Second Boer War and served in both World War I and World War II, participating in the East African Campaign and the Siege of Tobruk. With a proud and long history of dedication, loyalty, and service to the country, the Sussex Yeomanry provides its members with a community of fellowship and support. Today, its legacy is carried on by 1 (Sussex Yeomanry) Field Troop, 579 Field Squadron (EOD), which is part of 101 (London) Engineer Regiment (Explosive Ordnance Disposal) (Volunteers).
